Food for Life Western region embarked onto an Awesome program on Friday the 28th April at Molweni – just off Hillcrest as the Team partnered with the GOGO OLYMPICS Event for 2017
The Event was extremely well attended as officials estimated a record attendance of 4000 patrons – 7 bus loads of Gogos attended and participated in a series of sporting events that provided a lot of fun and laughter for the audience . It was also inspirational to see the older citizens making the best of the day and having some fun .
The FFRWR team was very competent in managing the crowds and ensuring that majority of the patrons received a hot meal and refreshments .
The success of this feed has paved the way for FFL participation in future programs with the Olympics team
Thanks to our Sponsors and team members , without whom this type of programs cannot be successful .
Western region team was up to speed with two Two Feeds that went very well this weekend
A team of Local Volunteers served 600 plates of hot breyani to the kids of Nagina township on Friday. The support from the local community was wonderful as many people joined the serve out and truly enjoyed the humbling experience .
The team also served 300 plates on Sat am to the local residents living at the Informal settlement in Dassenhoek . The relishable breyani was enthusiastically received by the many poor local residents of the area .
Food of Life is steadily becoming a family name as the teams venture out and reach and touch the many poor people that inhabit the informal settlements .
FFLWR thank all Volunteers and welcome your participation
Lets join hands and reach out to the Poor !
The Western region Team joined forces on Sat 22 October and served hot meals to the locals in Marianhill and Savanah park –
The cold and sultry weather provided an ideal opportunity to serve out the steamy hot meals – 300 local recipients lined up in both areas in anticipation of the relishing meals
FFLWR is focusing on social cohesion within the local areas and this seems to be working well as the FFLSA image seems to be well known now . The locals are very favourable to FFL due to continual service rendered to the locals .
The FFLWR team regrouped yesterday after a quite period following renovations at the local kitchen , and was successful in serving 300 hot meals and refreshments to the residents of Dassenhoek and Inner Marrianhill yesterday .
The experience was quite wonderful as these areas are quite hilly with poor roads and not always assessable to normal vehicles , however the pleasant surprise that FFLWR presented the residents with was very well appreciated and well reciprocated .
The Team is focussing on reaching out to more of these rural and remote areas and serving the souls with Hot meals and refreshments on a regular basis
Western team joined forces with ABH last on Saturday 5th Dec and treated approx. 400 guests to a sumptuous meal – The audience comprised many less privileged Children that were invited to be motivated & acknowledged with awards and gifts to inspire them towards a healthy social environment in 2016
