Dry ingredients and vegetables that will feed children in three children’s homes were donated to Food for Life. A teacher at the school, Amelia Beukes said, “We are blessed to have so much and at times we forget that other people, especially children, have nothing, even food.”

Food for Life representative, Vinesh Maharaj collected the donated food items at the school. He said, “Food for Life gives a meal to 1 000 people a month. It is sad that there are so many hungry children in Midrand, we receive donations on their behalf and provide food for them.

“Some of the homes we offer food to are New Jerusalem Children’s Home, Tumelo Homes and Thuthukani Centre. No person must go without a meal, but it happens.

“Donations such as the one from Glen Austin make a big difference in someone else’s life.”
