The food for life team braved the cold weather from the 26 to 29 June to help raise funds at the annual Kwa Dukuza Winter Fair. Their efforts paid off and a huge sponsorship was obtained from the Vivian Reddy Foundation who pledged to sponsor 10000 plates of food at a cost of R30000 for the forthcoming Mandela Day Celebration.
Seen at the fair is Babu Sampath the Chairperson(on left) and Harry Mahdey the Secretary of the Food for Life Kwa Dukuza branch. The volunteer in the middle is the Yajna – Babu’s Daughter.
We were fortunate to have the association of Mr Vivian Reddy who visited our stall and pledged R30000 for the meals and also offered to send volunteers to help us distribute the meals on Mandela Day.
