Overcome Heights

This weekend, Food for Life Cape Town visited our good friends in. Once again, it was a really hot day, so Mymoena thoughtfullly arranged for us to serve from the local Church. The kids were already seated and waiting for us when we arrived, and before we began serving, we were asked to say a little prayer, which the kids really enjoyed – what a well behaved group of kids they are – they have such an amazing ability to win your heart over in such a short space of time.

The feeding went quickly, and we later chatted with Mymoena and some of the other ladies who do such good work in their community. While we were serving in Overcome Heights, Vraj was doing the same in Nyanga, together with the Finlay Clan of Jason, Kim, Tulasi, Arjuna and Gaura-Lila. They were also joined by Lameez and Thando.

Cooking was done by the absolutely AWESOME Sveta. Our cool family of volunteers included Terushka, Neela, Kush, Saraswati and Reneilwe. Thanks also to the kind souls at Epping market who generously donated 4 boxes of crunchy apples. And a very big thank you to Krishangi and Zara for kindly donating some of their unused toys and clothes, which Mymoena happily accepted on behalf of the local creche.
