Mitchells Plain 8/4/2017

On Saturday 8th April 2017, Food for Life Cape Town visited our friends in Mitchells Plain.

Head Chef DADDY NILOO cooked the delicious 1,900 plates of food. BIG thanks to our lovely family of volunteers: Baby Rasheshvari, Rooshen, Reece and Stemray.  Thanks also to our wonderful community co-ordinators Ruschda, Aunty Fatima, Venetia and Keith Bloem.

We also sent food to 5 Night Haven Shelters, Elsies River (distributed by Angelo, Sam, Auntie Tessie, Tessa and Landon), Nyanga (distributed by Vraj and team), N2 Gateway project (distributed to Raatiqah, Leon and Belinda).

If you’d like to be part of our family, please don’t hesitate to join us. Please also get in touch with us if you’d like to get involved at management level – we meet once a fortnight to discuss strategy and logistics. Also, we need help with media, publicity, marketing, fundraising, etc. We currently require another van, new food crates, a dedicated, interactive website, a new kitchen site and equipment, someone to cook for us during the week….so there are MANY ways in which you could assist.

So, another great serve-out. Until next week…actually, as is usual over the Easter weekend, the Cape Town team will be in Durban for the massive, annual Durban Festival of Chariots, where Food for Life will be cooking and serving over 100,000 meals in 4 days!!  We’ll resume in Cape Town again the 22nd April.  So, until then…take care and lotsa love…
