On Saturday 26th September 2015, Food for Life Cape Town visited Nyanga and Phillipi.
It was a wet, cloudy day when the teams set out to serve, but fortunately the rain stopped when we headed out to our venues. As always, the locals thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the kids danced away to the drumbeats provided by Perez….at one stage he had the kids in Nyanga sprinting after him in joy as he ran around the block 3 times.
We had a lovely group of volunteers join us, including Mother Funeka, Mama Rose, Julian, Benu, Sulekha, Perez, Zara, Michael and Saraswati. BIG thanks to the AWESOME Sveta who cooked, assisted by Haladhar. Thanks also to Nilacala, Kush and staff at Dewchoc who cut and cleaned about 80kg of vegetables!
